I have a little sister!

Finally! You can ask my mom, I've wanted a little sister as long as I can remember! lol. I signed up for Big Brothers Big Sisters a few months ago but they didn't have anyone to match me with right away. I got the call to meet with my match finally on friday (11/6) to meet on monday(11/9).

We met at McDonald's on Monday as planned. Hannah is a sweet little 9 year old girl who is very very talkative and excited about me being her Big. Her mom seems pretty nonchalant and laid back. Her mom warned me that Hannah loves to talk on the phone and text and to expect her to call and text a lot if I don't set limits early. During our meeting, Hannah mentioned that the 4-H baking contest was going to be on Thursday (11/12). I thought that would be a great first activity for us.
Wednesday night (11/11), we baked Graham Cracker Cookies...
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. Brown sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 c. Pecans, chopped
12 halves graham crackers

Preheat oven to 350 place cracker halves on foil on baking sheet. Melt butter in sauce pan. Add vanilla. Brown sugar and pecans. Mix over med high heat until slow boil. Pour over crackers evenly. Bake for 8-10 minutes until bubbly.

...and Peanut Butter Cupcakes.

The Graham Cracker Cookies won 1st place in the candy/cookie division! It was so exciting!!

Saturday (11/21) we served Thanksgiving dinner at the Salvation Army.

I can't wait to see what God has planned for our relationship in the future. I know that He has arranged for this little girl to be in my life for a reason.
